Everlane – Why Work For Us?

Who we are

Everlane is an apparel and accessories brand founded in 2011 with a mission to rethink the way that retail works. We create beautiful luxury basics with the lowest possible markups. For every piece we create, we reveal our costs and tell the story of the factory and the people behind it. It’s a new way of doing things—we call it Radical Transparency.

We believe we can all make a difference.

Our way: Exceptional quality.
Ethical factories. Radical Transparency.

How we make a difference:

At Everlane, we want the right choice to be as easy as putting on a great T-shirt. That’s why we partner with the best, ethical factories around the world. Source only the finest materials. And share those stories with you—down to the true cost of every product we make. It’s a new way of doing things. We call it Radical Transparency.

Our ethical approach.

We spend months finding the best factories around the world—the same ones that produce your favorite designer labels. We visit them often and build strong personal relationships with the owners. Each factory is given a compliance audit to evaluate factors like fair wages, reasonable hours, and environment. Our goal? A score of 90 or above for every factory.

Designed to last.

At Everlane, we’re not big on trends. We want you to wear our pieces for years, even decades, to come. That’s why we source the finest materials and factories for our timeless products— like our Grade-A cashmere sweaters, Italian shoes, and Peruvian Pima tees.

Radically transparent.

We believe our customers have a right to know how much their clothes cost to make. We reveal the true costs behind all of our products—from materials to labor to transportation—then offer
them to you, minus the traditional retail markup.

Dear rule-breakers, questioners, straight-A students who skipped class: We want you.

Our Values

At Everlane we subscribe to a set of beliefs that help guide how we work, play, and problem solve together. If these resonate for you, there just might be a role with your name on it.

Everybody can, and should, make a difference

Whether you’re fresh out of college or a seasoned executive, at Everlane we expect you to go the extra mile and figure out how you can have the greatest impact in your role. Titles be damned.

Smart risks are worth taking

Look before leaping, yes—but then, by all means, leap. While we expect people to be thoughtful and strategic, to analyze all angles, we also know that real progress only comes from real risk-taking. And when smart risks fail? We celebrate those too.

The ethical choice is the right one

Doing the right thing not only feels better, we think it pays off in the long run. Whether we’re choosing a factory, being transparent to customers about our costs, or making sure our colleague is being treated fairly—there’s a right choice, and we want people to make it.

Great design improves people’s lives

A seamless site navigation, a beautiful office space, a killer excel spreadsheet, that perfectly bulleted email—we believe great design is human-centric and always considers its audience. We encourage Everlane employees to think about that audience, and design a great experience for them.

Less really is better

At Everlane this means we make fewer products that last longer—but it also means that we encourage the team to focus on what really matters. We believe that doing one or two things really well goes a lot further than doing ten things only OK.

You will have some of the best colleagues you will meet! They are inviting and positive. Work will soon to feel like home.

The Soho location is extremely small so it feels like you are trapped inside a small room all day.

    Average Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at Everlane in December 2018.

Initial interview was a phone screen by one of the team members (as opposed to a recruiter or HR person). The conversation was quick paced and a lot more in depth than most initial phone screens that I have gone through.

    Interview Questions

    • There were specific technical questions with regards to budgeting and scheduling. I was also asked about my retail construction experience. I was asked to share (via email) examples of my prior work as a construction manager.   1 Answer
