Excella Consulting helps organizations use technology to transform big problems into lasting solutions. We believe great work is driven by experts who listen first and measure success by the positive impact on individuals, businesses, and communities. That’s consulting with purpose. That’s Excella Consulting.
We are Excellians! We are Agilists and software developers. We are PMs and polyglots. We love to make big changes wherever we go. We place a premium on flexibility, taking initiative, and driving results. (And we’re pretty fun, too!)
Making something great goes beyond skill and expertise. It also takes the right combination of experience and innovative thinking to deliver technology solutions that make an impact. We consider ourselves technology craftsmen (and women) – constantly honing our approach to help our clients and their customers achieve what they only imagined was possible.
We exist to cultivate exceptional careers for our employees by creating meaningful solutions for our clients. We hire the best and provide them the freedom, trust, and challenge needed to help DC’s leading organizations deliver meaningful change.
From innovative user-design in government websites to groundbreaking commercial products, our clients are using technology to make an impact here in DC and across the country. We are proud to help them get there.
Here are few of our recent examples:
We’re a diverse band of everyday superstars who love working together. From a world of backgrounds and experience, we’ve all got one thing in common: We’re fueled by making a difference wherever we go.
At Excella, we know that great work leads to great things, for our clients and our employees. That’s why we were named a Top Workplace by the Washington Post in 2016! We are growing fast and welcome passionate, innovative people who are ready to make an impact.
Here’s what you can expect when you join our team:
Excellians love to learn new things and share what we know. Our team includes published authors and well-known speakers. We’re also meetup happy and participate in many business and tech groups around the DC area. Wherever ideas are being shared in town, you’ll probably cross paths with one of us.
We know your interest in your career goes beyond business hours, so we work with you to get what you need. We’ll share the cost of a new computer for you every two years, Mac or PC. Our office features a world-class training space, flex meeting and work areas for every style – all in the heart of Arlington at Courthouse Metro.
Are you an expert in your field? You’ll find time and space to think, blog, and create at Excella. Looking to learn more? You’ll have three days of paid professional development every year and we offer tuition help for advanced degrees and certificates.
Work life balance is important to us. That’s why you’ll receive 17 days of paid vacation on your first day. Every employee is bonus eligible and you’ll get a comprehensive health and 401(k) package. Also we have your commute covered, whether you bike, drive, or metro.
We hold monthly happy hours for our team all over the DMV. Our annual summer event includes spa/golf packages (and bring your family!). Monthly catered dinner and lots of snacks at the office. We’ve also got an award-winning rock and roll band, and we’re not afraid to use it.
Excella’s community investment program is best summed up in the words of Chris Fay, Executive Director at Homestretch, our non-profit partner, “I hope that what Excella is doing with us will inspire other companies to following in their footsteps. If this kind of relationship were replicated widely, the role and impact of non-profits would be dramatically advanced.”
ImpaX is Excella’s award-winning, high-impact community investment program dedicated to making a significant and lasting impact on the community. We partner with Homestretch, a local non-profit organization, to help homeless families obtain self-sufficiency, family stability and permanent affordable housing. ImpaX is inspired by the consulting approach that makes Excella successful – cultivate exceptional careers by creating meaningful solutions to tough problems. Through community service, Excellians get to try out new skills while also having a meaningful impact on the community. By focusing on a single cause, we maximize our impact and the feeling of accomplishment for our employees. Through ImpaX, Excella employees contribute three key things to Homestretch: time, money, and expertise. We support our employees’ extraordinary efforts by providing paid time off to volunteer, matching personal contributions and developing high-impact volunteer opportunities that make the most of their talents. Excellians are able to build their consulting skills while participating on and managing programs at Homestretch.
I have been working at Excella Consulting full-time (More than a year)
Everyone has a great collaborative and team mindset, all of the Partners are very accessible, listens to employee feedback, great culture
No cons that I am aware of!
I applied online. I interviewed at Excella Consulting (Washington, DC) in June 2017.
Had correspondence with a Sr. Corporate Recruiter via email and phone. Was very thoroughly in explaining the company, its culture, and the position. Great communication and very professional and knowledgable. Had to take an analytical assessment and was offered the opportunity to interview with the Hiring Manager. Had a great experience even if I wasn't offered the position. The company is looking to expand and I wish them the best in that endeavor. I see them developing internally and the hiring manager definitely will make sure that happens. From my experience, anyone having the opportunity to apply should definitely give it a shot. Great things are in the works for this company.
