Explore Horizons – Why Work For Us?

When Interviewing...

You will meet a plethora of different faces who are already part of the Explore Family, and they will all be invested in determining whether you and the company are a good fit for each other. There are 3 steps in the Assistant Director interview process:

1. Phone interview: 15-20 minute discussion about you, your experiences, and why you are interested in working for us.

2. Local learning center interview: 1 hour meeting with a management team in one of our Explore Horizons learning centers. This is your best chance to show us your ability to work with kiddos! Be yourself, ask questions, and come prepared.

3. Final round interview: 2-3 hour session with our Head Office team in Addison, TX. During this final step in the process, you will meet some of our company's key stakeholders, who will be very invested in learning about you and what you have to offer.

If Hired...

  • More than a job; you will have the opportunity to build a career with us, if you want one.
  • Nights & weekends: as a children's learning center, we are committed to doing whatever we can to make our service offering flexible and valuable to parents and families. As such, our centers are open 7 days a week and until 8pm on weekdays. You will still get 2 days off back-to-back in each working week, and you will be paid over-time.
  • Family atmosphere: You should expect to make new friends, develop working relationships with professional mentors, and invest your heart and emotions into the kids and families that you serve.
  • Rewarding & challenging role: If you are hired as an Assistant Director, no 2 days will be the same. You will be required to think on your feet, problem solve, communicate with many stakeholders in the community, fall down and get back up. However, when you get it right for a family, or make a meaningful difference to a child, all the hard work becomes beyond worth it.

Hear From Our People

Meet Sean Walker - Center Director

"My first encounter with Explore Horizons came through a search at while in my last semester as an undergraduate at Texas A&M University. It was only in college that I realized that my passion in life and career is to serve others and equip them to succeed in education, life, and at home. As I studied the role of an Assistant Director and the vision of Explore as a whole, it was as if I had written a description of my own dream job. It had business experience, a variety of job roles, and most importantly, the ability to change children's lives.

Every day is a school day here at Explore Horizons, due to the opportunity I have to learn and develop my own skills; not to mention the incredible things I learn through interacting with our students! Through our commitment to personal and professional development, I have now been able to move from Assistant Director to relishing the opportunity of leading as a Center Director in our Explore Horizons family."

Meet Juveria Ahmed - Assistant Director

"Being a fresh graduate from UTD with a double major in Speech Pathology & Child Development, I was eagerly searching for a job that would allow me to work with kids and help them become great learners. I came across Explore Horizons one day while I was searching online for a job that would help be jumpstart my career. After reading through Explore Horizon’s detailed website, I KNEW this job would be the perfect fit for me!! The interview process was very informative, everyone was very supportive; everything seemed too good to be true!

I was hired as an Assistant Director, and within 3 weeks of being at Explore, I knew that this job was made for me. I was managing the center on my own by my 3rd week there, meeting with parents, and going to marketing events! The most rewarding part of being at Explore Horizons is all the lives we get to change. Creating fearless learners is so much fun! One of my favorite feelings is when a kid comes in and gives you the biggest hug because you helped them make an A on their math test.

The opportunity of growth that this company has to offer is amazing! There is an immense amount of training and the most supportive staff that motivates you to do your absolute best. Within a year, I hope to see myself becoming a Center Director and eventually entering a role in Head Office. I know that with the help of my awesome Center Director and Regional Manager, I will reach my goals! Everyone here is eager to help each other out. Whether you’re at the Fort Worth location, or the Frisco one, everyone has the same passion for the kiddos and families!! This is by far the best group of people I have ever worked with!"

Meet Yousef Qattan - Tutor

"Explore Horizons is a tutoring center unlike any other in terms of tailored education. For every child to be comfortable with their academic pace at all times is arguably one of the most important aspects of learning, and Explore Horizons tailors every session for every member; thereby allowing every member to both learn at their own pace and enjoy it. The environment is very positive at the center; making every member feel welcome at all times.

Before I was employed at Explore Horizons, I had been a tutor at my school and a private tutor for six years. I tutored language arts in two languages, maths of every level below mine and sciences.

My favorite part of working with EH for the past 18 months has been seeing children become more confident with what they are learning as well as building bonds with them. To be seen as both a tutor and a friend by the children inspires me to be better in my personal and professional lives. In this role, I have been able to adapt to tutoring in tailored techniques, developed my interpersonal skills with adults and children and manage my time more efficiently.

Explore has equipped me with the soft skills needed by any profession in a way I did not think possible when I first started. I would recommend any person looking for a flexible, rewarding career with a professional learning experience to become a tutor at Explore."

    Positive Experience

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Explore Horizons.

This was a 3-step interview process, starting with a short phone interview, followed by an in-person interview at one of their centers, and finishing it all off with a couple of interviews at the Head Office. This was one of the best interview experiences I have ever had for several reasons--I was able to show my passion and enthusiasm for teaching, and I was given feedback throughout the interview process on things I could improve on. Not only were all of my interviewers entirely pleasant, but they were also very attentive, professional, and considerate. I learned a great deal just from the interview process itself; tips I will be able to use in the future. Lastly, I was blown away by Explore Horizons; their history and the passion that each and every person I met during my interviews had was astounding and delightful to say in the least.
