Help Us Unlock the Mysteries of Life

In life sciences, our solutions help scientists understand the mechanisms of life. Whether working in cancer, HIV, crop pest resistance, animal science, or drug discovery research, scientists gain deeper understanding of cell behavior, functionality, and structure with FEI.

Push Semiconductors to the Next Level

Our customers in the electronics industry are racing to develop new products at 20nm and smaller. As designs get smaller, everything becomes more complex and billions of dollars are at stake. FEI workflows are helping semiconductor companies work successfully with structures that are just a few atoms thick, so that they can improve yields and accelerate time to market.

Increase the World's Energy Supplies

The search for natural resources expands as demand intensifies. FEI automated mineralogy workflows are transforming productivity in labs, mines, production sites, and wellsites to help customers quickly answer critical questions and bring new energy sources to market.

Innovate New Materials

Innovative materials hold the key to improving safety, fuel efficiency, and productivity. FEI is helping scientists expand their knowledge of materials' elements and behavior over time in response to a variety of environmental factors. Discoveries that improve city infrastructures, increase clean water supplies, and reduce energy demands rely on FEI innovation.

Besides the satisfaction of helping customers change the world, FEI employees also enjoy competitive pay, opportunities for growth, and a range of other perks depending on where they are located.

Industrial ManufacturingOptimize quality control with automated, industrialized SEM

The Aspex Product Group from FEI is a collection of scanning electron microscopes for industrial microscopy solutions which help to improve quality control, production capacity, and profitability.  Suitable for the most rugged environments, Aspex solutions are used in demanding military, oilfield, industrial, and factory floor settings.

Turn particles into solutions for:

  • Quality control

  • Cleanliness

  • Process efficiency

This family of SEM's specializes in automated particle analysis that can rapidly detect the size, shape and elemental composition of an entire sample.

Advantages of an Industrialized SEM

These scanning electron microscopes with energy dispersive spectrometry can not only automatically document thousands of particles per hour while detecting the size and shape of each particle, but also identify the elemental composition of the particle. This valuable information can help manufacturers pinpoint the exact failing part or contamination source saving time, money, and perfecting their manufacturing process. Additionally, Aspex solutions offer a practical and push-button-easy to use system that can be tailored to your specific requirements and deliver results during the first day on the production floor. Industrial manufacturing solutions from the Aspex Product Group enable customers to quickly turn information into informed decisions.

What sets the Aspex Product Group apart from the competition is the fact that the solutions come from a single source manufacturer.  There are many benefits to having both the scanning electron microscope and EDX detector created by the same company.  For one, it makes service calls and routine maintenance procedures productive and efficient, decreasing downtime.   System performance is accelerated because of optimal communication between the SEM and EDX detector when all components are manufactured by a single source.  Maximum system performance means users are able to make quality control decisions faster and with more confidence.   Identical user interface models allow for ease of use and greatly decreases the learning curve for new users.

Accelerate analysis, reduce costs, and increase throughput

FEI automated mineralogy workflows are transforming productivity for mining and oil and gas customers by delivering relevant answers when, where, and how they are needed. With FEI, customers accelerate analysis, reduce analysis costs, and increase throughput to more easily make critical characterization and production decisions. Whether in a centralized lab or at the mine, production site, or well site, FEI customers move from questions to answers with user-friendly solutions for anyone.

I worked at FEI (More than a year)

Really great people and team! Part of FEI and now part of a bigger company but still has somewhat of a small company vibe at Fremont location. Fun place to be and lots of opportunities for developing projects. There are events throughout the year. This is a place where what you get out of it depends on your efforts. Also, the manager I had was super awesome.

Due to acquisitions, some of the company culture was disrupted and has become more corporate. This is due to budgeting and lack of effort to keep good people around.

    Advice to Management

This is to the corporate management. Provide the same budget to the division as it had before. It doesn't make sense to expect the same profit output when positions aren't getting filled or even budgeted for. There's a lack of talent for the amount of work that needs to be done so there are people who have to work extra hard. Upper management also needs to listen to the managers and employees that have a better understanding of what products will sell and what direction the company should head because the plans are not measuring up to competitors. Please include the right people in these meetings.
