Research is the driving force behind our property loss-prevention engineering and understanding of the hazards our clients face. FM Global has been the leader in property loss-prevention research for more than 175 years, and our research department is responsible for some of the most important breakthroughs in fire protection and loss-prevention engineering.

As part of our research department, you’ll work alongside other researchers and independently to understand emerging property loss-prevention hazards, quantify real-world scenarios, and develop new ways to protect against today’s property-loss threats. You’ll also work on implementation, evaluation, and development of techniques—including computer models and experiments—and present your findings to make strategic and beneficial advancements in risk mitigation.

    I applied through college or university. I interviewed at FM Global.


    Mostly behavioral, met with an HR representative and a software engineer. Went over my resume and asked questions about projects that I've worked on. The software engineer spoke about his role in the company and some projects he's worked on. They also inquired about my hobbies and whatnot. It was very casual and conversational, which I am fine with. No technical questions, although they did ask to elaborate on some technical aspects of my projects and classes I've taken at college.
