(Can be) fantastic experience - best in industry for news experience, with a lot of hands on work, great chance to make connections, and a lot of work for interns who pursue a dynamic environment. Hours/days can be flexible (depending on show time), and accommodate students as necessary. The company is also very loyal and flexible to internal candidates - if one internship at Fox wasn't great, there is a lot of sway given to where you intern next in the company.
The show managers can vary in responsibility given to interns - ymmv. Generally very good. Commuting to NY may be difficult for many, and costly (even with paid internship), depending on where you are based.
Advice to Management
It would be helpful to make the process more transparent and open for people - After applying and interviewing on the phone, I did not hear back for 2-3 months. It would have been reassuring to have been updated a few times regarding the process.
I applied online. I interviewed at FOX News.
Straight and normal processing with the interview, met with hr and then the hiring managers at the media desk who gave a news quiz that was expected but the questions were really thorough. After the quiz I met with another upper level management who explained the company and talked about what is expected.
