    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan.

    Interview

You will have a face to face interview with a managing partner (your direct boss). If he likes you, then you will take a test on the computer. The test will tell reveal your honesty level, work ethics, values and ability to strive in the Insurance Sales field. It is not difficult but most do not pass this test. Farm Bureau will only allow a manager to hire a person with a very high score. No matter who you are you must pass the test with a very high score, upper 15% get hired. If you do pass with a good score then they will be all over you to come onboard. The manager has a new hire quota, so if you qualify they will tell you what ever you want to hear to get you. They will tell you how much money you will make and that in three years you will be making over 100k. In nine years I never did and I didn't know of any agents that made that much. There are 10-15 agents out of the 400 that made a 6 figure income. Most were in the mid 50's. They will tell you that you will control your schedule, true, but you better be selling lots of life insurance to justify your time off to your manager.

    Interview Questions

    • There were no difficult questions. If you are any sort of sales person, you should be able to sell yourself first!   2 Answers
