Fast Enterprises – Why Work For Us?

undefined

Fast Enterprises (FAST) started in 1997 with a vision to introduce packaged software to the integrated tax processing market.

Our mission is to be the premier provider of software and consulting services to government agencies. FAST is firmly committed to on-time delivery of quality products and services that provide excellent value to our customers.

Today, FAST has over 1,000 professionals and we continue to grow at a steady rate. Our consultants are engaged on implementation projects working on-site in client offices at the city, state/provincial, and federal levels in North America, Malaysia, Laos, Poland, Finland, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, and New Zealand. In addition, we have product support staff and administrative staff working out of our three office locations.

undefined

At FAST, our employees are given an opportunity to make a difference from day one. We provide a collaborative environment that supports, mentors, and gives you guidance throughout your career. We work together as a team both inside and outside of the office.

When you begin your career with FAST, you will join one of our sites throughout the United States, Canada, and several international locations.

undefined

Fast Enterprises (FAST) is a software and information technology consulting service for government agencies. FAST offers commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software that helps agencies reduce costs, improve service to constituents, maximize revenues and improve the efficiency of internal operations.

FAST offers three solutions: an integrated tax solution (GenTax®), a driver services and motor vehicle solutions (FastDS™, FastVS™, and FastDS-VS™), and an unemployment insurance solution (FastUI®). FAST software leverages the latest technology to provide browser-based, platform independent, SOA compliant and highly scalable solutions running on industry standard technology.

undefined

FAST is an atypical software consulting firm because our employees get to live and work at a location until your skill set is needed elsewhere. When you join FAST you join one of our client sites and work with them directly to archive their old software system and to implement our product. We currently have 48 client sites in the United States, three client sites in Canada, and seven federal client sites.

As FAST continues to gain new clients, we are always looking for qualified candidates. We have full-time career opportunities for individuals at all experience levels. We look for candidates with integrity, combined with analytical, business, and communication skills.

I have been working at Fast Enterprises full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fully paid healthcare benefits, paid vacation, paid sick time, 401k, yearly bonuses (everybody gets one but hard work will only increase the size), a more than competitive salary (yes its true, the overtime is paid!) and the chance to travel and see new things that you may have never had the opportunity to do. Every project actively has there hands in the community and are constantly looking for ways to help out in many different ways. You will have the opportunity to work with some the smartest and self driven people you will ever meet that will do anything to help you succeed. We are a company with a global presence and our partners/owners make it a point to see, speak and get to know everybody across all our sites (your truly not just a number here). I have worked for other companies and done different things but I have never worked for a company like this. I can honestly say this place constantly blows my mind (most the time I have to pinch myself to make sure this is real) and has myself and my family grateful that we are part of one the greatest companies in the world. From my family to you, Thank you FAST!

    Cons

Sometimes you work a fair bit of overtime but its paid. Honestly your going to have to work overtime at just about any company or job you may take and I think you will find that the vast majority will not offer you a salary with paid overtime so I will leave it up to you if you think this is a con (its really not though). I have seen plenty of reviews that place the traveling as a con but if you want or enjoy seeing new things then its not really a con. I have a family of five and its never been a burden on us. Fast makes moving really easy (you wont even have to pick up a box or try to con your friends into helping you since they are always busy when its time to move) and it does not cost you a thing. For me these are not cons (more like opportunity) but they come up in reviews often so I wanted people to understand that its all in how you look at it.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work and we all recognize how above and beyond you go!

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Fast Enterprises.

    Interview

I received an email to send my transcript and availability after they received my application. They then scheduled a phone interview with me shortly after. The interview was quite simple, but it is clear that they are really looking for interns that want to become full-time Implementation Consultants once they graduate. Interview took about 20 minutes.
