I have been working at Ferris Coffee and Nut full-time
Very family oriented and willing to work with personal situations. My coworkers definitely feel like family, and are great to be around. Removed several toxic people heading production that didn't know what they were doing, and were playing favorites, and were harsher towards people of color who they oversaw. Wages seem to be fair, but getting raises for a job well done isn't always guaranteed. $500 a quarter to HSA account. Med, Vision, Dental Insurance. Company outings, and friendly competitions on occasion.
Upper management can be distant from those working on the floor. Lots of investments in our cafe area and cosmetics, but there are several other things we work with that need upgrading/replacing.
Advice to Management
Invest more in your employees with a living wage, upgrade equipment throughout the facility, become more involved with the people on the floor. Look for more insight from employees as you go forward.
I applied online. I interviewed at Ferris Coffee and Nut (Grand Rapids, MI) in August 2016.
The lady I spoke with at Ferris was very kind and respectful, but they hired through a temp agency Resource MFG instead of them directly and it was awful .
