I have been working at Fifth Third full-time (More than a year)
A solid corporate environment where it's fairly easy to guess what's expected of you. YMMV, because your daily life is strongly influenced by the people you work with directly every day.
Promotions seem to be at the whim of the regional manager. Get one who thinks she's still running a sorority and be prepared to need to win a popularity contest or watch less experienced, less successful candidates get promoted ahead of you.
Don't fall for the lie that they prefer to hire from within and take a demotion "just to get your foot in the door", with the promise of quick promotions based on performance. It will brand you as entry-level for the rest of your career there.
Advice to Management
Don't bother setting goals if those goals are ultimately meaningless when choosing promotions and rewards. Find a way to inoculate yourself against favoritism among buddies in middle management.
I applied online. The process took 5+ weeks. I interviewed at Fifth Third (Cincinnati, OH).
HR screening on phone, Hiring Mgr interview on phone, In person interviews with Hiring manager, AVP and Sr. AVP..if you are selected then a conditional offer is made. Final offer after passing drug and background checks.
