I worked at First full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management works hard to ensure a great work culture. Everyone is super approachable and eager to help whenever I've had a question or needed help with someone. Love that everyone can see each others' availability on Google calendar and schedule time to connect with one another if need be, as well. Great work/ life balance. Positive work environment. LOVE how receptive they are to hearing how can improve the environment for all (i.e. got motorized standing desks for everyone, dual monitors for anyone that wanted them, etc.) Committed to paying 100% of health insurance for their employees! Lots of natural light in the office, as 2 of the walls are floor-to-ceiling windows. Snack bar and expresso machine in the office. Inspiring, great company to work for!

    Cons

Parking can be a little ways from the building, but that's not their fault--- that's just the way the cookie crumbles in that part of Durham. However, they DO typically provide parking passes for full-time employees, so at least you don't have to fight for a space on the streets (which can be hard to come by with DPAC, WeWork, Durham Bulls stadium, and several other popular businesses nearby). So, you might be a short walk from the building, but it's good exercise and often there is someone else from the company walking to the same parking deck that you can walk with.

    Advice to Management

None! Have lots of respect for the management. I always get some inspiring nugget from every conversation with the CEO and love how approachable he is. Also, I felt super supported by the CFO any time I've had to talk to him. Additionally, COO takes time frequently to check in and make sure everyone has what they need. Strong leadership!
