I have been working at First Quality full-time (More than 3 years)
Decent starting pay and offers health insurance, though with high employee contributions. Great place to stay under the radar and collect a paycheck.
Very poor bonus 401k contribution, long vesting period, no profit sharing, poor bonus structure, and non existent annual increases (1% or less). If hired you must start at the highest salary. And paid time off is two weeks and three personal days with no sick time. Poor and unsubstantiated strategic planning and critical thinking is sparse. Given there is little financial or personal incentive to do well, you are surrounded by sub par performers and management, particularly long term employees. Turn over is a problem and generally the under achievers remain. Beware of the HR department, just read the other reviews and interviews on Glassdoor. If you need more professional experience, FQ could be a solution. Just focus on self improvement and then move on. This place is a career dead end and is draining. No job is perfect, but this place is mind altering. My advice is to pay very close attention in the interview to illuminate these points. Unless you want to stay under the radar and collect paychecks.
Advice to Management
Management does not listen, particularly at corporate. There are no employee surveys, no career planning and poor development resources. Goals are ambiguous and menial tasks aplenty. The company needs better analytics in both performance and human capital. Most roles should be redefined to make employees more accountable. Presently, senior and tenured employees do not perform and impede others that do. It may surprise management to know how many employees fall short due to the unwillingness of others.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at First Quality (King of Prussia, PA).
Got an initial email asking me to come in for an interview. Four interviews, about 30 minutes each, back-to-back. Got back to me within a week. Everyone was super nice and chill and the interview felt very organic.
