I worked at Firstborn full-time (Less than a year)
Firstborn is one of those places that a lot of agencies try to be but just can't...and that's exactly the point. Firstborn isn't trying to be anything or anyone..they're just being them, and its been that way from the beginning. Firstborn is a work hard, play hard kind of place and has one of those unique cultures that you only come across very few times in your career...if you're lucky. It's not contrived or manufactured but it just feels authentic and like a family...but not in the sappy sense. The kind of family that respects each other but also doesn't take your crap, that pushes you to do better because they know you can; and in the end you can see that mentality pay off in the work that they produce. They also just renovated a new office space that very much represents this vibe, particularly with the addition of Firstborn Brewco.
Its not a place to be if you just want to cruise. You have to be willing to work hard, put in the hours and make an impact.
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you're doing - focusing of culture, maintaining quality over quantity and hiring people from all corners of the globe who contribute to that
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Firstborn.
I applied online for an internship position and experienced very poor communication throughout the whole process. The person interviewing me failed to contact me for my scheduled interview and they did not make an effort to reschedule.
