I have been working at Fishbowl Marketing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity to make big money. Short sales cycle with high ACV. Quarterly bonuses and stretch bonuses for hitting or exceeding goal are lucrative and doable. Fun office environment and sales team

    Cons

Selling to restaurants takes adapting to. Restaurant owners juggle a lot at once. Need to be diligent to keep them on track in sales process and stay top of mind for them

    Advice to Management

Enterprise and Local staff don't interact a ton on a day-to-day basis. Trivia and upcoming holiday events have been/are fun and help with that on a personal and social level, but more work collaboration between the two would make them feel less distinct and more focused on same mission

    Client Support Specialist Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Alexandria, VA
    Accepted Offer
    Negative Experience

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Fishbowl Marketing (Alexandria, VA) in July 2014.

    Interview

It started off simply enough with a recruiter interview, a phone interview, and a 1:1 with the team leader. Everything seemed to be running smoothly, they made me an offer the next day, and I accepted.

Fast forward to a week later. The head of HR calls me to inform me that they've rescinded my offer due to the fact that I attempted to negotiate a salary. Keep in mind that their offer was below the industry standard for the area, I had another, much higher offer, and was just ensuring that I did my best in advocating for myself.

Fishbowl did not appreciate this. After misrepresenting my education and experience to me (they told me I had a college degree and one year experience when, in fact, I have 2 masters from major public universities and had, at the time, 3 years support experience), they told me I should be grateful for my unliveably low offer and that I'd "disappointed them and couldn't be trusted."

Needless to say, I put them in contact with my lawyer.
