I have been working at Flexenergy full-time (More than 3 years)
The FlexEnergy culture is very good in that everyone from the President to the Mechanical Techs are accessible and will freely exchange thoughts and ideas. The SME's are all very talented and (again) accessible. They're willing to take the time to work out solutions with anyone who may have an issue or idea.
The gas turbines produced at the plant are of exceptional quality and reliability. There's a sense of pride with each unit rolling off the end of the manufacturing line.
The sales group, which was recently recruited from a competitor, doesn't seem to completely grasp what is manufactured in the company they represent. The scope and terminology they use still represents the company which they came from. It certainly hurts their ability to sell their current product.
The industry itself is a feast or famine proposition. Within the last year, the focus had to change dramatically due to the downturn in Oil and Gas. Although there is a good foothold in other markets which the GT supports, it takes a while to execute the high dollar sales which each installation represents.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Flexenergy (Irvine, CA) in September 2011.
Very collegial. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant and encouraging.
They offered more than I was looking for. No negotiations.
