Our promise to our employees is to have a positive and lasting impact on you and your family by creating a healthy and engaging work environment.

Company Updates

  • Flexware started in 1996 as Flexware Integration. In 2001 we changed the name to Flexware Innovation and created the tagline “Cultivating Manufacturing Success” and adopted the “wheat” as our logo. This logo served us well for the last 18 years, but it has been retired.

In April 2019, we just launched our new brand and new logo.

Our newly redefined purpose of “unleashing the potential of technology, freeing people to focus on what’s next” is motivating us in our 3rd decade of service to our customers. Our new logo is meant to convey stability, technology, and trajectory as we help our customers move forward.

We hope you enjoy the fun video as we decommissioned the wheat for the last time.

What exactly is a FlexDog? Let us explain.

A FlexDog is the most unique and rare of all manufacturing engineers. It’s a certain breed of engineer that is highly sought after by OEMs nationwide. It’s an engineer that lives and breathes technology and loves to problem solve, yet has an innate drive to help people. He or she always does their best and humbly serves others.

  • Do you love drawing diagrams and flow charts on whiteboards? You might be a FlexDog.
  • Do you love to tinker around and build stuff? You might be a FlexDog.
  • In your younger years, did you try to turn your Dad’s riding lawn mower into a golf cart? You might be a FlexDog.
  • Do you enjoy thinking about the future and how to make technology smarter? You might be a FlexDog.
  • Do you grab a hold of a project from get-go and guarantee its success? You might be a FlexDog.
  • Are you a rare Myers-Briggs type INTJ? You might be a FlexDog.
  • Do you enjoy solving technical challenges and putting the “puzzle pieces” together? You might be a FlexDog.
  • Do you prefer work/life balance, a regular schedule and time for the family? You might be a FlexDog.
  • Do you enjoy helping others and being thoughtful? You might be a FlexDog.
  • Are you looking for a challenge? You might be a FlexDog.

OEMs nationwide in industries such as automotive, aerospace, food and beverage, energy, life sciences and agriculture trust Flexware Innovation Inc.’s engineering contracting and hiring program to identify FlexDog manufacturing engineers for placement in key automation engineering roles within their organizations – engineering positions focused on control systems, information systems, system integrations and software.

Did you answer yes to many of the above FlexDog questions? Then you might just be “FlexDog” material. Our recruiter Matt Heiden would love to chat more! Feel free to email him at matt.heiden@flexwareinnovation.com.

I have been working at Flexware Innovation full-time

    Pros

Flexware has come a long ways in the past couple of years to modernize the culture and compete with other tech companies. Some of these perks include open PTO, overall flexibility, and better cash bonuses. If you are getting your work done, maintaining billable hours, and keeping customers happy, then no one is going to question you. A new modern office building is in the works and will be a welcome relief from the darker, older feel of the current office. The open spaces, location, and vibe of the new office will be another great perk.

Flexware hires some of smartest and hardest working people that I know. We have great leaders at every level of the organization who are transparent and genuinely care about their employees health, job satisfaction, and happiness.

I feel that the work I do here is challenging, but is recognized and is rewarding.

    Cons

As a growing company during a time when the job-market is extremely hot, it sometimes feels that employees can be stretched pretty thin. This is great for job security, but it sometimes feels that you are working on something that would be best suited for a small team rather than an individual. It would be great to see more emphasis put on working as teams for better efficiency, quality, and cohesion.

The scope of work can be challenging, but I view this as a good thing. It keeps things interesting and greatly builds your set of skills no matter what your job title is.

With the varying scope of projects and nature of the manufacturing industry it can sometimes feel that you are stuck working with older, outdated technology. Flexware is good at pushing for the latest and greatest, but it can still be difficult in this industry.

    Advice to Management

Keep staying true to our foundation and mission as the company continues to grow.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Flexware Innovation in February 2015.

    Interview

I received a call quickly after applying online, and was pleasantly surprised that it was the CEO of the company. I was automatically impressed with a CEO that took that much interest to make the initial call. It was a fairly detailed phone interview, reviewing my background, mistakes I've learned from etc. Nothing atypical, however it was all during my first interaction. This was followed by an on-site interview once it could be scheduled. This was a group of 5 of the key players and was mostly a repeat of the phone interview, such that the rest of the team could be involved. The final on-site interview was again 6 of the key players. They asked detailed technical skills questions, and pushed me on how I'd respond in certain situations, working under pressure etc.

The thing about Flexware is that they care more about how a person works and if they will fit in with the team, than the specific skill set an applicant has. The focus was on my character, not specific experience or skills. I was able to prove I can troubleshoot problems, learn quickly and find unique solutions to challenging problems despite having experience in a different field.
