I have been working at Flowserve full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly workforce, hardworking and smart. Many long-timers, some in excess of 30 years. Training available for those who want it. A relaxed dress culture with some flexibility on how/when you put in your hours.

    Cons

Always looking to cut costs (of course). Closing manufacturing plants, so prospects may be limited for some locations. Lacking in diversity. Tied closely to Oil&Gas, so expect business (and your compensation) to follow this cyclical market.

    Advice to Management

Some changes are expected with new CEO Scott. He needs to eliminate the "silo" mentality and get all business units working together. Good-ol-boy culture finds it hard to think outside of the box. Continue current effort to reach out to minority groups ex-military, women, etc.

    Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Flowserve (Los Angeles, CA).

    Interview

Multiple phone interviews and one on site took place before an offer was put in writing. Additional negotiation took place after the offer was made to secure the best possible offer from this employer.
