Floyd's 99 Barbershop – Why Work With Us?

If you want a hair stylist or barber career in a high-volume, fast-paced business... where the music coming through our speakers is as diverse as our staff, then click "Apply to Floyd's 99" above to start your application for Floyd's 99 Barbershop today!

Our range of services includes haircutshair colorstylingwaxing, and traditional barber services such as straight razor shavesface and/or neck shavesbeard trims, and more.

Additionally, music and rock 'n' roll have always been core components of the Floyd's 99 brand. While no two shops are the same, each shop is plastered with our iconic poster wall - a visual time machine of popular musicians and memorabilia. Some Floyd's 99 locations also have hand-painted wall murals highlighting moments in music and pop culture! All of this combined gives Floyd's 99 Barbershop a distinctive, authentic feel, with a retro vibe and modern twist - hence why we're "More Than Just a Barbershop."

At Floyd's 99 Barbershop, we like to keep it simple by maintaining service as our #1 priority, with a fun, welcoming and competitive atmosphere that allows for career growth and innovative spunk in a not-so-traditional, unique work environment.

We believe in staying ahead of the trends, moving quickly and being part of something we think is... pretty boss. We celebrate style, creativity and innovativeness in an effort to promote from within and turn jobs into careers. We value our employees and the diversity they can bring to the team in making us stand out. We take pride in our talent and know that our clients do as well, by helping us to create a welcoming community... and a good-looking one at that!

Floyd’s 99 Academy provides ongoing advanced PAID education for our talented hair stylists and barbers to strengthen their technical skills. The Academy has classes that start at an introductory level and continue to advanced levels. These  classes are designed to build confidence in using the tools that are necessary to create every and any type of haircut that our clients ask for.

The classes begin when a new employee is hired, and continue throughout to help the employee grow their skills. Most classes are based on building technical skills, however some classes are designed to help the employee gain more confidence in being able to provide product recommendations for their clients.

In addition, other classes will showcase steps we recommend when providing a consultation, as well as steps that will enhance the customer experience and set us apart from the competition. The Floyd’s 99 Academy continually adds new, exciting and different classes that inspire and motivate our employees to grow!

The Floyd's 99 Family Care Fund was created to assist Floyd's 99 employees who are in need of financial assistance in the event of a sudden emergency. Starting in October 2018, for every product that is sold in our Home Office shops and online, $0.25 of the purchase price will be going into the fund. Stay tuned for more details on the fund, how you will be able to contribute to help support your fellow Floyd's 99 employees, and how employees can apply early next year!

Floyd’s 99 Grooming Line was designed to enhance and personalize the services we provide – to allow the Client to take home a piece of the experience received in the shop. Our exclusive formulas are developed and tested by our very own experienced stylists/barbers and are sold exclusively in Floyd’s 99 Barbershops and on our website.

Floyd’s 99 has been actively involved in the communities where we’ve held a presence since our inception. Not only do we care about making a difference, our staff members are intimately connected with local charities, schools, arts programs, businesses, and other institutions

Our National Charity

The Floyd’s 99 Family has many personal connections to Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).  We’re passionate about doing what we can to help treat, prevent, and find a cure for this devastating disease, one haircut at a time. For that reason, we’ve made it part of our mission to support The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the largest charitable contributor to cutting-edge T1D research, make a life changing impact on the lives of more than 3 million children & adults.

Local Community Outreach

In addition to raising money and awareness, we make it a priority to get out and be part of the community. From support of schools, local organizations, businesses and non-profits, we are constantly seeking new ways to connect and support the local communities we reside in.

In the summer of 2014, we launched the Floyd’s 99 Barberbus™ – a full-service Floyd’s 99 Barber shop on wheels. The Barberbus™ allows us to get out into the community, fundraise for various non-profits and provide hair cuts to those unable to regularly access hair care services.

We're Always Growing!

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Floyd's 99 Barbershop.

After applying online, you’re contacted by a recruiter in their corporate office by phone. After answering a few questions, if approved you are told that the store manager will contact you by phone. You do a brief phone interview with the store manager and then they call you in for an In person interview. Once you go through the in person interview, if time permits you do paperwork and an over the phone background check.
