Technical Account Manager
Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

ProsThe company has an explicit and visible commitment to people. There is a clear focus on the part of everyone (including, and more importantly, the founders) to keep employees motivated and engaged.
ConsWorking with a fully remote, distributed team can take some getting used to.
Advice to ManagementAs the company grows, focus on culture and maintaining the values that make the company so special.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fluxon (Vancouver, BC)
InterviewI was recruited by a Fluxon recruiter from India, and they were late to the first call. The did not know much about the role, and seemed flustered . I asked a few questions and their inability to answer any of them stuck out to me but I decided I would wait until the next step. In the second interview with the hiring manager, I was asked very minimal technical questions, and the rest seemed overly casual, which I actually appreciated, but it meant that I didn't get many of my questions answered. The final interview was with the COO during which the offer was actually presented which I appreciated -- not being forced to wait etc. I liked the people but the interviews themselves were unstructured and lacked depth.
What kind of work do you like to do? Where have you worked in the past?Answer Question
