I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Foodtown International (Port Monmouth, NJ) in November 2009.
Walked in, filled out 1 page application. Hadn't been previously employed, but they had signs all over so I figured they were desperate. I was interviewed straight away by the manager. Mostly just asked about my schooling, took about 10 minutes at the most, offered me a job on the spot and had me in training the same night.
They offered 8.00 at first, 8.25 after 30 days, 8.50 after 60 days, I thought this was reasonable for an entry level position.
