College Students and Recent Graduates

Ford Credit Leadership Development Program (FCLDP) – Full-time

Ford Credit’s Leadership Development Program (FCLDP) is a dynamic introduction to the automotive financing industry that exposes participants to a range of positions within Business Center Operations. While in the program, participants build a foundation for advancement within Ford Credit by strengthening skills in customer service, team management, business development, and financial analysis.

 

Through a progression of job assignments, online and classroom instruction, formal feedback and mentoring, the FCLDP prepares participants to take on leadership roles. Participants must be willing to relocate and will be provided a comprehensive relocation package. FCLDP participants begin their Ford Credit careers in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Greenville, South Carolina; Nashville, Tennessee; or Tampa, Florida.

We’re looking for energetic people who are enthusiastic about learning our business, are flexible, exhibit strong interpersonal skills, work effectively with diverse people and cross-functional teams, and who meet these minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale)
  • Willing to relocate
  • U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. work authorization

Summer Internship

As a Ford Credit summer intern, your responsibilities will grow as fast as you can handle, giving you an opportunity to make major contributions to our products and success. Summer interns are responsible for challenging projects at Ford Credit headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. Interns work in a strategic functional area such as:

  • Risk Management
  • Marketing
  • Sales Operations
  • Quality and Process Management
  • Insurance
  • Business Center Operations

Interns have access to the company’s senior leaders, professional pay and corporate housing (for qualifying interns with a home address more than 50 miles away) during their 10- to 12-week summer internships.

 

Successful interns may receive a full-time employment offer in our Ford Credit Leadership Development Program (FCLDP).

    Slow career advancement if you are not in a program such as: Ford Credit Leadership Development Program etc.... Varying shifts and required to work some weekends & holidays.

    Advice to Management

    Provide more information to your employees on the reason why certain programs allow for faster career advancement. Create more opportunities for fast tracking career programs for employees with college degrees internally who possess the same qualifications as do the employees hired externally into the existing programs.

    Application

    I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Ford Credit (Nashville, TN).

    Interview

    There were two interviews; one on-campus and the other off-campus. The first interview was fairly straight forward with behavioral and situational questions. The recruiter was friendly and looking for someone that could speak well and demonstrate professionalism and confidence.

    The second interview included a group case interview. It was given to you before hand, but then you were expected to work with a team at their location to decide on a consensus approach. Afterwards you were given a tour and a final interview that asked some behavioral questions and more in-depth situations.

    Overall, the experience was great. The Ford Credit team is incredibly friendly and just looking for the best fit with the company.
