I worked at Forge Group full-time (More than 5 years)
Great career opprtunity to learn from scratch to a very high level in a very small time. One gets to work at various levels and the company gives opportunity to lead even at a very young age. Less internal politics. One gets full credit for his work, even in front of top management. Work ethics is high. I learned the most here. I could easily use that experience and get hired at a higher level in a bigger organization.
Nepotism and favoritism were the biggest problems. Top management sometimes would not listen to lower level people and would ignore the real stories. Because of favoritism, wrong people would get into wrong positions and would run the company the wrong way. This led to the company's business downfall in Australia and US, simultaneously.
Advice to Management
Engineering is engineering, but they should get some advanced level management lessons from Harvard or similar places to understand how to run a company when it becomes big. Other similar big organizations are not stupid that they send their executives for such trainings time to time.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Forge Group (Huntington, WV) in May 2012.
i was hired through a connection. there wasnt much of an interview process for me. i got a phone call that described to me what i would be doing and where to go and things of that nature.
there was no negotiation
