I have been working at Francisco Partners full-time (More than 3 years)

    - Top positive for me is their talent development: I've been here for four years and promoted once, whereas most other PE firms would have forced me out at some point along the way. I'm very much not unique either as FP has a long track record of nurturing their employees and promoting from within
    - I really enjoy the tech focus
    - People are all genuinely kind people and easy to get along with
    - Working in the Presidio instead of FiDi is a huge morale booster

The cons here are also systemic to the private equity industry at large. No job is perfect after all.

    Difficult Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Francisco Partners (San Francisco, CA) in May 2010.

I was invited to interview at Francisco after a friend referred me. Their office in the Presidio is stunning! While the interview was easy to schedule and my background seemed to be what they are looking for, the Sr. EA was outright hostile. I was left in a conference room for 30 minutes and then when she finally showed up, she says, "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU? You were supposed to be here at 3pm." When I asked what could she mean since I was there on time and was waiting on her, she blamed the receptionist and did not apologize for her outburst. In addition she asked only negative questions e.g. describe something that went wrong or the worst thing said about you in a performance review. It was a shame because the phone interview went well, I very much enjoyed meeting the other EA and they otherwise have a great reputation.
