Dedicated and caring staff and Team Directors. Good flex time for people with families and children.
You cannot expect to be promoted into other positions through hard work, commitment and merit alone. It requires that you make the "favorites" list. They wonder why the turn over is so great and the annual state surveys shred their residential program. Often times, the Team Directors are teaching their own supervisors about the residential program but there is no compensation or acknowledgement. One person can do the work of three people but no promotion will be had if they aren't great pals with upper management. They will go as far as being manipulative to prevent Team Directors from advancing. First hand experience.
Advice to Management
Team Directors are transferring to other departments and leaving the centers all together for this very reason. Take notice of your valuable, aspiring Team Directors while they are working hard right under your nose. It is a shame to lose your top shelf employees but if there isn't a change, this is what you can expect. If you have a Team Director who is noteworthy and successful in several areas - open your eyes!

Lengthy, two in-person interviews with a group. One interviewer in particular was rude. Signs of lack of/inconsistent caring about employees, workplace dramatizations (poor management), unnecessary workplace stress due to management. Low pay, particularly considering expectations. No discussion during or after interview of workplace ethics and how employees should be treated, what their rights are, etc.
