    Sales/Management Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Palm Harbor, FL
    Declined Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at FreightCenter (Palm Harbor, FL) in January 2017.

I was interviewed 1st by telephone, then in person with a low level manager, then a mid level manager, who all wanted to hire me.. I was then called by the V.P.- Ali. She told me that I was accepted & made me a formal job offer. Then, I get a call the next day, stating that ALL new hires MUST be interviewed by the Owner of the co.- Matt. He did not conduct a formal interview, instead asking about your personal life. He MUST like you personally to get hired there & apparently he didn't like me or for some other reason, I received an email a day & a half later stating they decided to go with another candidate (this was AFTER I was offered the position & despite the fact that I have all necessary experience & then some). They are constantly looking for new employees & I was told everyone was hired as an In-bound Sales Rep., although the mid-level Manager I met with (Josh) was hired 3 months prior, directly into a management position. After this fiasco, I've learned that they are indeed seeking more sales reps (not that they just selected another candidate, as I was told) & they hold new sales reps. training on a continual basis, usually every 2 weeks or so (with several new hires). So, it was a total waste of time & other people have said that they get rid of employees readily & people leave consistently, I'm sure due to the games they play. I'm glad I didn't end up working there, as anybody could easily compete with them by starting their own company. They are just a go-between with the customers & freight companies, no rocket science there- people could just call freight companies & save the profit that this company makes off of each sale. Terrible experience & total waste of time. Apply there only if you don't seek job security, don't need or want a retirement package & are willing to jump through hoops for the owner- he obviously doesn't have proper judgement. Glad I didn't give notice to my current employer after I was called by the VP with a formal job offer, after which to be called back to speak with the Owner (Matt), who bases all hiring solely on his "liking" of you. Don't waste your time & certainly don't give a current employer notice until after you are given something in writing from them stating a "formal" employment offer. What a joke..

    Interview Questions

    • The owner wanted to know personal information, not about what you can do for the company, your past experiences & successes & if you'll "fit in" with the company's culture.   1 Answer
    • Matt said "so, tell me about yourself". He sought personal information, not professional results.   1 Answer
