    Application

I applied online. The process took 6+ weeks. I interviewed at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (New York, NY) in January 2016.

    Interview

Standard process. After first interview, the managers asked me to fly me up to New York and if I could get up there in less than a week (luckily I have friends that live in the City). Flew on my own dime (>$400) and was not asked to be compensated. Following the interviews with the associates, the manager told me they would get back to me within a week. I followed up after 2 weeks and then again after 4 weeks. I finally called the manager and they said they had given the job to someone else the job. The manager then asked if I had received an email on the their decision (obviously not as I have been emailing you directly) and would look into it. Not very professional.

    Interview Questions

    • What are some strengths and weaknesses?
Why are you suited for the position?
What are you looking for from the position?
Have a lot of questions ready because most of the associates won't ask many questions and expect you to question them.
They will also try to sell you on the corporate culture being different from other global firms (Skadden, Baker, etc.) but they're not (not that it's a bad thing).
