Mission: We believe in sharing joy. We pour our hearts into what we do, so we can share the best of the world in all its richness and color.
At Mezzetta, we strive to add joy to everything we do. From our glass-jarred, globally inspired products to our spirited company culture, we believe in celebrating and sharing the little things that make life special.
Our story began in 1935, when Giuseppe Mezzetta brought a taste of Italy to his new home in San Francisco. Today, four generations later, our passion for food and flavor is stronger than ever. Now led by CEO Jeff Mezzetta and headquartered in Napa Valley, the company has expanded nationally to showcase a wide variety of premium products from across the globe, and we’re proud to be the country’s leading brand of specialty olives and peppers.
At our family-owned company, everyone is an honorary Mezzetta — from the farmers to the team on the factory floor, from the sales team who keep the shelves stocked to our loyal fans who seek a bit of adventure in every meal.
As we write our next chapter, we’re looking for bright, qualified candidates to join the Mezzetta family. Our team is passionate about flavor, quality, and fun, and we think food made with love tastes better. From sales and marketing to operations and maintenance, every day is an adventure, and we’d love to have you join us.
When Giuseppe Mezzetta moved to San Francisco, he missed the rich flavors of his native Italy — so he set his sights on bringing the best of the Mediterranean to his new home. He opened a small storefront in North Beach, the city’s Italian neighborhood, to share his favorite imported foods, and he soon earned a reputation for excellent service and top-quality products. Giuseppe could never have dreamed that his modest “mom and pop” store would become the foundation of a proud legacy and a future leader in the grocery aisle.
Four generations later, the Mezzetta name still stands for delicious, authentic products crafted with care. CEO Jeff Mezzetta, Giuseppe’s great-grandson, continues the tradition while driving the company forward with product innovation, expanded distribution, and a passion for bringing the flavors of the world to kitchens across the country. Today, Mezzetta is a category leader in glass-packed peppers, olives, and premium Mediterranean-inspired products — and at 80 years young, we’re only just getting started.
We’re on a mission to share the joy of food and flavor with the world, and that begins with a fantastic team. We’re always looking for qualified candidates to join the fun and help us write the next chapter of our brand’s story.
Mezzetta is a fast-paced company powered by passionate people across a wide variety of specialties: production, sales, operations, IT, marketing, and so much more. If you’d like to join a family-owned company that truly feels like a family, we invite you to explore our current job openings and let us know how you'd like to get involved.
I have been working at G.L Mezzetta full-time (Less than a year)
Mezzetta is extremely focused on two things, people and quality. They are a relatively well known national brand with upside potential, yet still operate as a small family owned operation. This provides wonderful access to leadership, openness to new ideas and a good culture of togetherness. Silos are not a concern here. The tremendous growth over the last decade has the business hiring talented individuals from outside the company to help drive a best practice culture.
There is a lack of repeatable process and available tools to track data for many areas of the business. For my role specifically, this actually creates opportunity to help build a strong functional team and deliver value which will have a lasting impact. The Mezzetta Leadership strongly supports this shift as well
Advice to Management
Develop and implement training programs for salaried staff. Identify next generation leadership and implement a program which will allow them to develop their skillset and advance their careers. It's the best way to retain talent within the organization.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at G.L Mezzetta (American Canyon, CA) in August 2016.
I had a phone screen initially and then an interview with the Chief People Officer. My second round was two panels consisting of various leaders throughout the organization. My third round was with the CEO. I was well informed before each interview and prepared for the process and for who I would be meeting with.
