I have been working at G2 Web Services full-time (More than a year)
G2 is a very flexible environment and mostly empowers staff to do their work, innovate, even complain to drive change. Not at all unusual for folks to move between departments and learn entirely new disciplines. Once a quarter the CEO answers any question asked (even anonomously). Flexible time off policy that people are encouraged to use. People have an opportunity to have a big impact...on frausters and on the business. Fun is often encouraged.
"Medium" sized company so doesn't have the resources of the biggest players in town, but also not a start up. Can always use more resources. Making progress but can continue to improve focus...we do too many things sometimes. Offices are not spectacular.
Advice to Management
Continue to listen to and value your team and trust them to make decisions. Make the tough decisions on prioritization.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at G2 Web Services in January 2015.
Initial interview process was a short discussion with the HR recruiter. Then passed my information on to the SDE liaison for this position who performed a phone technical interview. He was very friendly and this process wasn't overly intense. We also just discussed the position in general to get a better feel of each other. The final step was an in person interview - I met with 4 people for a panel interview that was very technical. We discussed SQL, Rails, and other particulars of the position. I then met with a Project Manager and a Project Lead which was technical but again to just figure out how I would fit with the team.
