I worked at Galliford Try full-time (More than 5 years)
They have some great loyal people. The housing business is very successful and supports the construction side of the business.
Senior Management are only in it for their own gain. They don't pay their supply chain in an open and honest way. They struggle to keep hold of good people. Training and personal development is not a priority.
Advice to Management
The is a need to provide real inspirational leadership supported by truly lived values. Cash management needs to be more open and honest. Share the success with the people on the ground. Provide a structured training and development programme for all. Recognise the benefits of specialists within the organisation and provide a career path for them.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Galliford Try (Shilton, West Midlands, England (UK)) in June 2015.
Interview process was 3 stages, a telephone interview (15 mins) followed by a face to face interview at the Galliford Try offices with a recruitment partner (90 minutes). Then a face to face interview with 2 technical senior management from Galliford Try (90 minutes), including a short 20 question technical written test at the end. All stages were conducted in a relaxed conversational style rather than an interrogation. It took a little longer than expected to get a decision, and I had to chase for feedback, though overall It was a very positive experience.
