I have been working at Gameday Media full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The design department is overall very laid back compared to the other departments in the company. We are deadline-based, so when we are up against a deadline things become much more stressful and overtime is required from higher level designers.
Time off is easy to use except for calling in sick unexpectedly.

    Cons

Deadline based so busy seasons are very high stress and overtime is required from some. We use older computers which slows down the flow of design/getting information to clients.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget the art department in raises, cash, etc!

    Interview

Paul was very responsive after I called in. We set up an interview for the next day. Polite, casual, authentic. They gave me space to see the culture of the office, and what the work would look like on a day-to-day basis and I was able to shadow another newish girl who had been doing pretty well. I was able to get all my questions answered using genuine and frank language. I did end up getting an offer and so far things are going great.

I felt I had a good understanding of the position before I accepted the offer and even the chance to ramp up my knowledge in the appropriate areas before I started my first day because of the shadowing.
