I have been working at Garmat USA (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of overtime available, as they are understaffed for the week that needs tip be done. There will be very little accountability expected off you.

    Cons

Working conditions are reminiscent of an early 20th Century sweat shop. The company will lure you in by using words like "supervisor" inn the ads. When you accept a position of higher responsibility they will low ball your salary requirements and promise a raise and review, this will not happen. Instead you'll be placed in a more menial position and this won't justify the pay you requested. If you work in their main facility you will find an almost non existent safety procedure. You will work in a poorly lit, un-ventilated area, in a thick haze of fumes from cutting metal, paint, and second hand cigarette smoke. Many of their workers are refugees from third world countries who are accustomed to poor working conditions, Garmat is happy to accommodate those expectations. Even if your pay is adequate, the extremely low pay that your co-workers recieve had generated a culture of apathy. While the office breakroom is well appointed the factory breakroom has no refrigerator, no working microwave and no chairs. The procedures are poorly defined and the quality control process is shoddy.

    Advice to Management

If you want to improve your productivity and efficiency you need to recognize that even your manual labor force is made up of human beings. You need to pay more tip attract better workers. You need to actually improve conditions rather than simply paying OSHA's fines.
