    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Gatestone & Co. (Phoenix, AZ) in June 2017.

    Interview

I was interviewed for a Recruiter position in one of the call centers. Once I came into the lobby, I was asked to fill out a whole job application with references on paper even though I have already applied online. It made me think that this company was very old school already. After filling out all of this paperwork, I was finally asked to come into the office.

I got a tour of the call center and it was decent. I went into the conference room and I originally met with two hiring managers and the HR manager at the same time. A group interview was completely fine. What was unnerving was that several hiring managers popped in unexpectedly during the middle of the group interview, and I was thinking this seemed pretty random and disorganized. Everyone was very nice though. I thought the questions were fair and it felt more like a conversation.

After I left the office, I was told that I should hear back relatively soon, and the HR manager would keep me posted. She did keep her promise, but what was disappointing was after all of the interviewing, the executive staff decided that they were not going to hire after all! It felt like a big waste of time and had I known that this company would be unpredictable like this, I would not have gone through the interview process. I know that the business directly depends on client demand, but it also showed the company's instability.
