I have been working at Gebauer & Griller full-time (More than 5 years)
The new CEO's vision of a dependable, customer-centric company that continually transforms the business to meet the next generation of challenges is inspiring.
GG is a company with a long legacy that is transforming to future proof the business. There is a very strong family culture with a sincere pride in what we do. Smart and driven employees with lots of opportunities for development. As an established and respected industrial company, some leaders and employees have struggled to adapt to the changing business landscape. I believe the new leadership (especially the board, HR & Finance) is turning us in the right direction, but we have a lot of work to do.
Advice to Management
For those that miss the good old days, let it go. Don't be afraid to take a chance on your people. Give them more responsibility and cut bureaucracy. Your people are incredible. Your rigid autocratic micro-managerial style is not cute, the sooner you find out the better! We see people in the HR department and Finance working on flexible hours and home office and still delivering results, so why can't our head of department try this approach too? Perhaps he'd be pleasantly surprised by the increased productivity of our team.
- Continue to remove layers of approvals and encourage ownership and collaboration.
- Lack of proper benefits for employees, does anyone even manage this on a global level?
- IT department needs a serious wakeup call
- No one knows what our company values or culture even are, so how are we supposed to be proud of GG and act in a "GG" way?
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gebauer & Griller (Vienna (Austria)) in November 2017.
1. Telephone interview with a recruiter
2. 1st F2F Interview a manager
3. 2nd F2F Interview with the global head
4. Meeting the team
5. Offer letter
6. Offer acceptance
The whole interview process took about three weeks. I was regularly updated on the status of the hiring process - to be honest, it was one of the smoothest interview experiences I've had so far.
