Career Advice for Students
Illinois Institute of Technology
Hi all! I just landed a Summer '23 Software Engineer Internship at Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories Inc . It's planned to be a full-virtual internship with the team from North Carolina and Indiana. Is there someone who can provide an insight into the company, their virtual work culture, and growth opportunities for interns?
Chicago based Senior Consultant up for promotion. Masters + 5 years of CX cloud strategy. Experience with Salesforce, Amazon Connect, Workday and CCaaS (five9, CXone, Genesys, etc.) among others. What’s fair expectation for base + additional comp/total comp?

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Genesys (Laurel, MD) in May 2022
InterviewI initially was contacted by a recruiter for a brief 15-20 minute phone conversation where I introduced myself and provided a high level summary of my experience and qualifications. Very easy going discussion. He scheduled an interview with the hiring manager on the spot and I had that interview within about a week. Our interview was about an hour over Zoom. It was very organic and conversational where we went into more depth about my experience and how it related to the position. A few days later, the recruiter contacted me again to schedule an interview with the hiring manager’s manager. That was even more conversational. I believe she actually spent more time talking than I did. She went over some of the company’s history as well as the direction it’s headed in and how my role would support that. It felt as though this second interview was more of a formality. Pleasant conversation. Received an offer about 7-10 days later. Overall a low stress and relatively quick recruiting experience.Interview
I honestly don’t remember any specific questions. I was mainly asked to discuss my experience and there were some follow-up questions here and there to dig a bit deeper into what I initially said.Answer Question
