I have been working at Geoblink full-time
Pros
Normally I am not the type to leave a Glassdoor review but seeing a comment posted recently made me want to and stand up for the company and my management. I'm writing this comment to express my deepest dismay with the unfairness of some of the negative comments as I do not feel they reflect the Geoblink me or my colleagues work at all! There is no doubt that some of the comment have come from someone outside the company who for some reason is profoundly resentful (maye he/she was laid off because uncultural fit and/or low performance).
Geoblink has done a great job with staying a truly deep product startup and as almost 100% of the revenues come from SaaS product licenses and that is why we have on board top venture capital investors, so to me it seems ridiculous that anyone would claim they act like a consultancy.
As far as I know, there have only been a very small handful of people who proactively left the company since it was founded, and we’re talking of a company of 50-100 employees as of today. This is the best evidence to me that these comments are extremely unfair. If the company is so horrible to work for then we would have people leaving all the time, but instead what I see is that we Geoblink has a great employee retention rate that is one of the best in the Spanish start-up scene.
The comments do not reflect how I or my colleagues see Geoblink. Most probably the person is a disgruntled ex employee that wants to leave a damaging false review. If that is the case let’s lay down the facts.
The company runs anonymous employee satisfaction surveys several times a year. From a scale of 0 to 5 (0 being the lowest score and 5 the highest), please find below the average scores of some of the questions:
- "I have fun at work": 4.7
- "I would recommend Geoblink as a great place to work": 4.6
- "I would re-apply to my current job": 4.6
- "I have confidence in the VPs": 4.5
- "I have confidence in the CEO": 4.6
- "I feel proud to be a Geoblinker": 4.8
Cons
I have nothing to add as a con. The past few months the company has made some great changes. I know people might try to claim that we are workaholics but really we just love what we do, and we don't work more than other similar startups. I asked all my colleagues and no one here feels like the count the hours and they like that they can choose how much they work. We are 100% results oriented. We are mini-CEOs. Management appreciates a lot keeping a good work-life balance. Of course there are times with peaks of work like in any fast paced environment, but it is not the norm.
Advice to Management
Don't get too affected by comments in Glassdoor, and keep doing what you do.
Application
I applied online. I interviewed at Geoblink.
Interview
The interview took place over a week more or less. Firstly I had a standard phone call with HR, and then I had a phone cold call session with one of the team. And lastly I had a video call with my now manager and went over some cold calls and went through standard interview questions
