I worked at Georgetown University Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)
Great Vision, great pt care.
Limited ability to grow within the department
I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Georgetown University Hospital.
Over the phone interview: 45 min. Interviewer heavily emphasized on the bad life-work balance, long commutes to satellite clinics and "abrasive" personalities from surgeons who "are known to yell at and insult the staff".
In-person interview: 90 min. Same interviewer- was rude and unprofessional: chewing gum, looking at computer and texting (I had to pause twice because she was just not paying attention).
Then I met with the lead principal investigator for the transplant medicine. We talked about my professional experience and accomplishments and he explained in more detail about the job.
Lastly, I met with the Research Coordinators, they were more interested in knowing if I had regulatory experience. One of them completely debunked some of the things I was told on my phone interview like the extremely long commutes to those clinics.
At the end, I was told that everyone was "very impressed" with me and that they hoped that I would contact them soon.
I did. Many times with many follow up emails. To this date, no one had had the DECENCY to contact me even to say they're not interested. I lost two potential job opportunities because I was waiting for a response.
