Giant Eagle operates more than 200 full-service pharmacies in our Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana supermarket locations.  Our pharmacies meet a variety of customer needs, from filling prescriptions and administering flu shots to conducting free health screenings and providing patient education.  Our entire Pharmacy Team is dedicated to patient safety and work diligently to ensure accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

Internship Development Program (IDP)

Each year the intern positions we hire for vary based on Corporate, Retail Operations (Market District/Giant Eagle), Retail Operations (GetGo), and Retail Support Center (warehouse) needs. 

  • Experience Required: Undergraduate Junior or Senior at an accredited four-year University
  • Training Program Duration: 10 weeks

Intern Leadership Development Program (ILDP)

  • Experience Required: College Graduate who participated in the Internship Development Program
  • Training Program Duration: 3 year retail department rotation

Store Leader Development Program (SLDP)

  • Experience Required: Multi-department (internal applicants) or 3+ years retail leadership experience (external applicants)
  • Training Program Duration: 9 -12 months training/shadowing

Team Leader Development Program (TLDP)

  • Experience Required: Retail experience or Store Leader recommendation
  • Training Program Duration: 10 weeks (internals) and 13 weeks (externals)

    I have been working at Giant Eagle part-time (Less than a year)


    These are some of the hardest working people I’ve seen, and if they see that you can work, and work hard, they’ll “go to the moon and the stars” to help you.
    They’ll give you all the help under the sun if they know you want this job!
    If not, they’ll not waste their time.
    Everyone is really relaxed, the atmosphere is really laid back, while still respectful.
    Management is awesome, and they’re really chill too. There’s no one in there who is stuck up, or difficult, as they all realize that they all need to work together.
    Plus, many of them have been there 10+ years, and they’re more than willing to help out new guys!
    I can’t say enough about the positives!!
