Clearly focused on the right things to improve the performance of the entire corporation. The new CEO is very bright, experienced, and very focused. He has brought a culture of performance and communication missing for a long time. He has introduced and '80/20 Business Improvement Process' to the organization, which has been the cornerstone of growth and exceptional financial performance of companies like ITW.
The CEO is also a great listener and coach, which is absolutely critical when trying to change culture. He has brought excitement back to this organization.
They really need to spend more resources on the development of executive and mid level management. There is a lot of talent inside the organization, they just need more help in understanding what the new expectations are, and help in understanding the new tools.

Process was quick and painless. Interview was with multiple senior level managers and included both traditional and behavioral based questions. The process was completed in just 1 day with a few follow ups for additional questions. The plant, corporate and HR staff were professional and very open about the position, why it was vacant and what they wanted.
