Goosehead Insurance – Why Work With Us?

At Goosehead, we believe there are three building blocks to a meaningful career:

  1. Professional and financial growth opportunities
  2. Outstanding company culture, and
  3. Purpose

With a combination of great people, rewarding work, and competitive compensation, Goosehead is an ideal place to begin or continue a meaningful career. From new employees that come through our doors, all the way to our top executives, you won’t find a single person who doesn’t want you to be successful. Our employees support one another, learn from one another and never settle for the status quo, challenging our company to grow as a whole while also achieving attractive financial and professional growth.

As such, our team members at Goosehead exude positive energy and motivate each other to be better than the day before.  Day in and day out, our employees are surrounded by talented, hard-working people and are challenged intellectually by the projects we work on for our clients.  We work hard to foster an atmosphere where you can’t help but feel excited to contribute every day.

Our people are our core advantage. While some of our best performers never saw themselves in the insurance industry (because, who does?), Goosehead has created a vibrant company culture with unparalleled professional learning experiences and opportunities for growth. Our commitment to providing unmatched career potential has allowed us to attract the best and brightest.

Goosehead is disrupting the insurance industry  with the goal of becoming the number one client service provider across all industries. This means we must be exceptional in what deliver to our clients and innovative in the products, service, and education we provide.

Our overarching objective is to become the leading national player in insurance distribution.  With this clear goal in mind, we also strive to create a unique career path and investment opportunities for our people.  With our creative and driven young professionals, we are creating a company that is among the most admired in the U.S. Goosehead team members keep their eye on this vision and swing hard for the fence.

Goosehead has established a Leadership Development Program that teaches its high caliber, young professionals how to effectively manage professional relationships and add value to the company.  The Leadership Development Program gives these individuals exposure to top executives and emphasizes the importance of servant leadership and supporting the team – notable key operating principals to Goosehead.

Goosehead also prides itself on its Women's Professional Development Program, which empowers women within the organization to accomplish high performance and career satisfaction. An extension of this program, the Working Mothers Group, works to empower women to have lasting, successful careers while raising families.

Our leadership team also embodies a servant leadership style which promotes real-time coaching and feedback to solidify best practices amongst the team. With this mentality, individual contributors have opportunities to support the newest members of the team by taking on mentorship and training roles within the organization early on in their careers.

With hard work, comes great reward. We believe that those who work hard to build a world class business should be rewarded for the results they deliver. As such, we have many individual and team incentive programs that reward our people based on their performance.

In the short term, our offer is very competitive. Over the long term, we have earning potential that our-paces most other careers.

One of our Operating Principles is to provide the best service in our industry. Doing so requires the hard work and dedication of every person every day. Whether it means starting early or staying after hours to facilitate the client's needs, spending some extra time explaining an important coverage, or simply being willing to listen to the needs of a fellow colleague or client, our people work hard  to be the best.

At Goosehead, our team members will always be found working hard to deliver results and add value to our people, clients, and partners. Never will you hear a Goose say, that’s not my job or someone else needs to do it – Goosehead members make things happen – and we have a lot of fun along the way.

Goosehead has established individual and team incentive programs that are competitive in our industry. Additionally, we reward the successes of our team members through company-wide recognition, off-site events and team building, and many other perks.

One program unique to Goosehead is our MVP program, which we refer to as rewarding the “Top Goose.”  Through peer nominations and review by the Executive team, a MVP of the month is selected and honored for their dedication to expemplifying Goosehead's Operating Principles. The MVP receives company-wide recognition, a celebration in their honor, and an exclusive dinner with the Executive team. The next step is the MVP of the year who is selected from the 12 monthly winners by our Executive team and earns an invitation to join the Top Producers incentive trip.

At Goosehead, leadership is more than a corner office. It is guidance in times of growth and change. It is a vision for the future, and the wisdom to understand that investing in the right people is the key to any great business success story. Our leadership team embodies all of these characteristics. Our leaders are more than their titles, they are servant leaders dedicated to the success of their teams and the company.

Our culture fosters an energized sense of camaraderie with a shared mission of delivering world-class service to customers and a dedication to drive growth in an entrepreneurial environment. Because of our entrepreneurial spirit, servant leadership mentality, and culture of teamwork, individuals at all levels and departments “flock together” to reach our collective goal of owning the industry.

As one of the largest and fastest-growing agencies in the business, Goosehead is built on the values and operating principles originally created by founders Robyn and Mark Jones. Select Operating Principles include:

Reputations are earned over a lifetime and far too often destroyed in a matter of days or hours or even minutes. Clear and complete honesty at all times is a cornerstone for all Goosehead employees.

What we do collectively is more important that what any one of us does individually. At Goosehead, we only succeed when we ALL succeed.  We emphasize a team mentality and focus on the successes of our teams rather than on our own individual successes.

Being “at cause” means finding solutionsas opposed to just identifying problems. At Goosehead we should never hear the words “somebody needs to do something about that or someone should fix that.” If something needs to happen, Goosehead team members say, “I will find a solution to that problem or I will do it.” We make things happen.

Pay for performance is a cornerstone of our business and we reward results, not activity. Team members are rewarded fairly for their contributions to the success of our business. Our compensation and financial incentives are very competitive and, along with the challenging work we do, push our team members to never settle.

At Goosehead, mediocrity is not our thing. Delivering the WOW means more than just going above and beyond what our clients expect – we  expect every employee to deliver the WOW with every single client interaction.

I have been working at Goosehead Insurance full-time (More than 3 years)

The money is great if you work hard. I'm not sure what the college kids think a job is coming fresh out of college, but this is not 100K guarantee. You have to WORK HARD. Your mom and dad may have given you everything before, but this is all on you. The salary projections are ACCURATE for those that work hard. All of the reviews I see saying that they were lied to about what they would make just sound lazy to me. Did you think you would be able to snap your fingers and make a decent salary? GROW UP. This company has plenty of opportunities and WE DO make the money they tell you about. I have received one email in my 4 years at this company asking me to leave a review. ONE IN FOUR YEARS. I'm not sure what emails people are referring to about management asking us to leave good ones. Also another huge pro to this job is that if you do it correctly, you are allowed to work from home. What job just says sure work from home as long as you still meet expectations? So I can work from home and still make $150K a year. Yes this is very true. We also have a Women's Professional Development Council that Robyn Jones RUNS. So saying she doesn't have any say in the company is ridiculous. She is an amazing woman and always looks out for all of us. I don't know of any other companies that have a whole development program for women? Talk about AMAZING! No one asked me to write this, I am just tired of reading the same lies every time someone quits. Also, ADHD is a real mental illness and people should no be shamed for having to take medication. Frankly, it's no one's business. Also, discriminating against employees because they are Aggies is just stupid. These comments prove people are just REACHING for things to complain about because they were too lazy to work here. WHOOP!

It is hard work in the beginning. A lot of needy people, but it's sales. Try not to start a family until after your business is established. You focus needs to be on building your brand for a god two years.

    Advice to Management

Keep on keeping on. Much respect to all of you and I trust you all 100%. I'm so fortunate and excited that I have been able to experience the growth of our company.
