I have been working at Gorton's full-time (More than 10 years)
Talented people who work hard and genuinely want to help the business succeed and grow. Strong promotion from within bias. A place where almost everyone wants to help new people succeed. Great benefits plans. Admirable business goal: help people enjoy the benefits of eating more seafood.
The entire food business is going through a transition and Gorton's is adapting to that change. As consumers and retailers change, the company is also changing to better meet the needs of consumers and retailers. If you want a stagnant place where change is avoided, this is not the place for you.
Advice to Management
Keep the evolution proceeding - those who have posted negative reviews should go elsewhere, most people here do not agree with them.
I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Gorton's (Gloucester, MA) in March 2016.
Friendly people, long 2 1/2 hour interview with 6 different people most of them asking redundant questions. They gave me a walking tour through the plant and showed me how all their fish is Pollack that comes from Alaska, which is comical since Gloucester is one of the oldest fishing ports in the country.
