We build products and solve problems that improve our citizens’ lives! We take initiative and self-organise to deliver results. We don’t let processes get in the way, rather we use them to scale the impact of our work and aren’t afraid to change how things are done, to work smarter and use time more efficiently.
Our people are our greatest assets and form the “heart-ware” of all we do. We embrace that learning is never done. We are constantly challenged to sharpen our professional skill sets and to take charge of our own development. We live and breathe our ABC values.
We prioritise the well-being of YOU and are committed to help you feel refreshed and fulfilled both in and out of work, without losing sight of what matters to you.
I have been working at GovTech full-time
I am stationed at Hive. My thoughts on the place, people and culture.
- Open minded team and management
- Passionate smart people
- Fun environment
- Cool, empowering mission to serve the nation
- Some of our engineering practices are at its infancy (need more experience and expertise)
- Need more senior engineers to guide the overarching processes
- Occassional culture of adhoc meetings can be disruptive
Advice to Management
Given our collaboration with multiple agencies, have conversations about direction and prioritization with the heads of agencies i.e. PSes etc. The second guessing of the direction can be unproductive.
I applied online. I interviewed at GovTech (Singapore (Singapore)) in January 2017.
One face to face interview followed by technical assignment to be completed in 3 days.
Before interview they ask the filled up interview questionnaire 5 pages asking your working experience, personal attributes, career interest and past performance rating.
During the face to face interview, they only clarify things on the questionnaire or ask the elaborate more. Lastly ask you any questions for them. Pretty standard stuff.
There are two parts to the technical assignment . One is the coding assignment another is the written test. Not too difficult.
After that they will come back with an offer, if you accept the offer they will proceed with reference check and arrangement to sign contract.
