I worked at Government of Alberta full-time
good sense of work-life balance
opportunities for growth and development
you get to work with a range of different people
too much changeover in management
often poor managers don't get reprimanded which is frustrating
very much a "hurry up and wait" mentality
limited opportunities to modernize processes
Advice to Management
resist the urge to micromanage and trust the people you hired to do their job
I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Government of Alberta (Edmonton, AB (Canada)) in June 2017.
Three interviewers; HR, a director, and team manager. The team manager started off with technical questions, BA related, the director of the department asked competency questions, while HR asked general interview questions.
