We want you to be your whole self, in and out of the workplace.
At Grant Thornton, our people are talented, intellectually curious and driven to make things better for our clients, our community and our firm. It's one of the reasons our people are proud to work here. From day one, you have the opportunity to contribute to our results and have your voice heard.

We live (and work) by our values.
At Grant Thornton, we are bound together by a set of global values and supporting behaviors that shape the way we work with our clients, with each other and within our communities. These values are:

  • Collaboration

  • Respect
  • Responsibility

Our values are the foundation of each step we take toward as a leading firm serving dynamic organizations. They are the bedrock of our culture as a modern organization that is inclusive, respectful, flexible and where employees can truly and fully be themselves.

Build a strong foundation for growth.
Starting your career on the right foot is important. You want to grow with a firm that’s interested in your long-term professional development. That's us. We'll help you learn the technical skills that will grow your career, and provide guidance, mentorship and inspiration along the way. You will gain valuable experience by working alongside our approachable, available leaders, and through formal leadership and technical training courses.

We are committed to your growth. Learn more about our career development and career mobility.

Flexible time off. Really.
In November 2015, we introduced a new flexible time off policy, instead of a predetermined set of paid time off days. Our employees don't need to deplete their PTO banks to take a special trip or take care of family obligations. We are the first public accounting and consulting firm to move away from the traditional paid time off model in an industry focused on utilization.

We do this because we trust our employees to manage their own time, which in turn allows them to return to work refreshed, with better ideas and solutions for clients. It's one more way we encourage you to bring your whole self to work. You decide when and how much time you need to pursue your passions. Go ahead, climb Kilimanjaro. Go to the beach. Reconnect with your kids.

See how employees reacted to the new policy when we shared the news! (Spoiler alert: They were delighted.)

I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This firm has exceed all my expectations. I came from a Banking background to the Consulting world and am amazed at the cultural differences. This is a lean, entrepreneurial firm where they value their staff as the true engines of growth that we are. Actions speak louder than words and GT gets it.

    Cons

It is a fast-paced culture that rewards entrepreneurial drive. This is not a place for followers.

    Advice to Management

Continue your focus on the quality of life initiatives that you have in place and the staff will continue to support you

    Account Marketing Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Chicago, IL
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Chicago, IL).

    Interview

Multiple phone and in-person interviews. After dragging out the process out for five months, and after a final round interview with five stakeholders, I received no response or update of any type from HR or the hiring manager. They spoke a great deal about their wonderful culture, however in my experience their treatment of me as a candidate speaks volumes over the rhetoric.

    Interview Questions

    • Exactly how would I help them with business development? This is not part of the role. Many other questions were asked, fishing for my ideas and taking notes.   Answer Question
