Find out what sets our firm apart, and why you should join us.

We want you to be your whole self, in and out of the workplace.
At Grant Thornton, our people are talented, intellectually curious and driven to make things better for our clients, our community and our firm. It's one of the reasons our people are proud to work here. From day one, you have the opportunity to contribute to our results and have your voice heard.

We have a healthy, high-performance culture where people feel valued, respected and encouraged to contribute all their unique abilities. Up and down the organization, we support your quality of life and your unique aability to contribute. We challenge you -- and we support you -- to do and be your best in and out of the workplace.

Come thrive professionally and personally in a collaborative, vibrant and inclusive culture, where you can make a difference every day.

We live (and work) by our values.
At Grant Thornton, we are bound together by a set of global values and supporting behaviors that shape the way we work with our clients, with each other and within our communities. These values are:

  • Collaboration
  • Leadership
  • Excellence
  • Agility
  • Respect
  • Responsibility

Our values are the foundation of each step we take toward as a leading firm serving dynamic organizations. They are the bedrock of our culture as a modern organization that is inclusive, respectful, flexible and where employees can truly and fully be themselves.

Build a strong foundation for growth.
Starting your career on the right foot is important. You want to grow with a firm that’s interested in your long-term professional development. That's us. We'll help you learn the technical skills that will grow your career, and provide guidance, mentorship and inspiration along the way. You will gain valuable experience by working alongside our approachable, available leaders, and through formal leadership and technical training courses.

We are committed to your growth. Learn more about our career development and career mobility.

Flexible time off. Really.
In November 2015, we introduced a new flexible time off policy, instead of a predetermined set of paid time off days. Our employees don't need to deplete their PTO banks to take a special trip or take care of family obligations. We are the first public accounting and consulting firm to move away from the traditional paid time off model in an industry focused on utilization.

We do this because we trust our employees to manage their own time, which in turn allows them to return to work refreshed, with better ideas and solutions for clients. It's one more way we encourage you to bring your whole self to work. You decide when and how much time you need to pursue your passions. Go ahead, climb Kilimanjaro. Go to the beach. Reconnect with your kids.

See how employees reacted to the new policy when we shared the news! (Spoiler alert: They were delighted.)

Great leaders, specifically at the local level . Partners show deep involvement in developing future leaders. Worked at 2 firms prior to GT and firm shows actual commitment in terms of $$ and time to driving an improving culture.

Growing firm experiencing bureaucracy challenges. Taking the step from a $500M firm in the early 2000s to a global $5B+ firm today. While the quality of the work output has seen huge growth, certain back office processes need streamlined.

    Difficult Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Oak Brook, IL) in March 2016.

The Director who interviewed me had no idea what he was doing. When I interviewed by manager who sits in California, it was obvious that she was clueless too.
