    Application

    I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Green Street Advisors in February 2020.

    Interview

    It was quite forward and professional until it ended. However, I think the issue is a bit obvious.

    The company was recently purchased and they are in a growth mode. I believe that also means long time individual contributors are now being placed into management roles.

    The interview ended with the hiring manager stating how he was very impressed and wanted to immediately place me in contact with the next step (interviewer) in the process. My next and final interaction with the company was three weeks later when I was told they hired someone else. And I believe I was only given this update because I sent an email requesting follow up.

    Again, pretty sure this is just a lack of training and experience of being a leader/manager versus a solid individual contributor (that has now been promoted). That said, a company with a very good industry reputation could lose it all very quickly if the appropriate training and expectations aren't sent in the short term.

    • Standard. Actually, a bit beneath what would normally be required for a role at this level. I simply don't feel the interviewer (not recruiter) was versed at conducting the type of interview that was required.   Answer Question

In this client-facing role, the Account Manager provides a high level of client service while generating revenue for the firm through research subscription renewals and upsells. While no day in this role is the same, key responsibilities include educating and training clients on the Green Street platform, handling client questions and requests, proactively gathering and sharing client feedback, identifying upsell opportunities, and collaborating on renewing research subscriptions.
