I have been working at Gremlin full-time (Less than a year)

I love it here. It's a great, great company.

I spent a lot of time checking out the company before I joined. Gremlin is in a very interesting space, and I wanted to make sure the company culture was a place I'd like to be a couple of years. So here are some observations for someone that's investigated it recently, and spent some time inside the company validating that investigation!

First of all, the leadership of the company is incredibly transparent. They are smart, humble, and they really care about their impact on people. One of the things I was most impressed by is just how self-critical and open to feedback the leadership team is.

The company is a great group of people. The people I've met in the company, across all functions, have been excellent. No big egos or jerks. There are some really really smart people here, and they're all helpful and collaborative. I've observed almost no " us and them" behavior.

In engineering, the team is welcoming, supportive. People work hard but it's not frantic or stress inducing. Everyone wants to do good work together.

Work/life balance is quite good, which is amazing for a startup!

The company is young enough that it hasn't really made huge strides with D&I yet. This is (non-negotiably) important to me. Leadership seems committed to real diversity and inclusive behavior. They seem aware of the dangers of unconscious bias. And, they seem willing to put real action behind making Gremlin an inclusive place for everyone. I haven't seen any red flags since joining, and actually am finding it to be a really welcoming place.

You probably wouldn't enjoy Gremlin if you want a completely stable, unchanging job. It's a startup, so there is a lot of change, which most people find exciting and to be a source of growth.

    Advice to Management

Maintain your focus on people. Keep building a great product. Continue bringing in people carefully.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Gremlin (San Jose, CA) in August 2018.

I applied but never received a response. Have a rejection letter that stated, thanks for taking the time to interview ... (I never interviewed) and also "think it prudent not to proceed with the interview process" Not sure how it is not prudent, I never talked to them.
