Back in 1993, when Founder, Chairman, and CEO Bob Faith set out to build Greystar, he saw a highly fragmented multifamily industry that was more focused on assets than people. He envisioned the need for an industry leader, a blue-chip company that operated with the highest integrity and character in delivering world-class services to residents, property owners and investors in multifamily real estate. He said, “Why not us? When we founded Greystar in 1993, we did it with a clear idea of where the company would be in 5, 10, and even 20 years. Establishing a presence in desirable real estate markets and then staying in those markets with property management experts is one part of the strategy that positioned Greystar for growth. Developing strong investment and development divisions of the company was another part that has allowed us to choose timely real estate projects while riding out the ups and downs of the market. We also realized the importance of spotting trends on an international level, but implementing them at the local level. Finally, we believed partners who have ownership in the business are the best people to oversee each local and regional market. It’s an approach that has allowed us to establish and maintain an entrepreneurial spirit that continues to attract high-quality clients, investors and team members to the company.

There is barely any training
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Greystar (Charleston, SC) in November 2018.
Was sent an email to meet for an interview. I interviewed with 2 lovely ladies who were very accommodating and friendly. The process was good I was asked a few normal questions like what I am currently doing, what my background is, and how I would handle certain situations. Just be yourself and remember the people interviewing you are just people. Treat them that way and they will respect you more than if you are nervous and intimidated by them.
