Back in 1993, when Founder, Chairman, and CEO Bob Faith set out to build Greystar, he saw a highly fragmented multifamily industry that was more focused on assets than people. He envisioned the need for an industry leader, a blue-chip company that operated with the highest integrity and character in delivering world-class services to residents, property owners and investors in multifamily real estate. When we founded Greystar in 1993, we did it with a clear idea of where the company would be in 5, 10, and even 20 years. Establishing a presence in desirable real estate markets and then staying in those markets with property management experts is one part of the strategy that positioned Greystar for growth. Developing strong investment and development divisions of the company was another part that has allowed us to choose timely real estate projects while riding out the ups and downs of the market. We also realized the importance of spotting trends on an international level, but implementing them at the local level. Finally, we believed partners who have ownership in the business are the best people to oversee each local and regional market. It’s an approach that has allowed us to establish and maintain an entrepreneurial spirit that continues to attract high-quality clients, investors and team members to the company.

I have been working at Greystar full-time (More than 3 years)
Greystar has provided me with the opportunity to grow professionally as a Community Manager. They have excellent training, smooth on-boarding procedures, and a huge support system to lean on during trying times. Employees are provided all the necessary resources to do their best job. The culture promotes growth from within and a great salary/benefits package. Greystar excels in both career and personal growth, they really do encourage you to become the best you that you can be. Individuality is greatly encouraged and an open line of communication at the corporate level is unparalleled to other companies.
Greystar does demand more from their team members, but if you are like me, there is nothing more satisfying than the feeling of accomplishment a full work day brings.
Advice to Management
I wouldn't change anything about my superiors.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Greystar in November 2016.
I applied online and took the people answers test. I was contacted immediately by an HR representative and interviewed over the phone. That interview went very well. I was told they would be in contact with in the next week. A week went by no one called. I contacted the HR rep and she told me she had been out of town and scheduled me for a second interview. I agreed to that time and date. I waited for the call at the scheduled time but no one called me. Two full days pasted before I finally received a response from the HR rep after I had emailed her twice and left a voicemail. She thanked me for my time but said they had decided to go with an internal candidate. No apology for they no-show on the second interview.
