Griffis Residential Interviews
Marketing Specialist Interview
Anonymous Employee in United StatesNo OfferPositive ExperienceEasy InterviewApplicationI applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Griffis Residential (United States) in Jun 2022
Interview
Interview process was very disorganized and unprofessional.
After applying online, I received a call asking me for my availability. Within an hour of getting the voice message, I called back and gave them a few times that would work for me within the next few days. I did not hear from them for a week. I followed up and called again, stating I'd left a message with my schedule and they seemed flustered, but we were able to get it scheduled for 10:30am a few days later.
When the day came for the interview, they called me at 10:15 a.m., so 15 minutes early, and did not apologize or offer an explanation. I was frustrated because I'd had to leave a meeting early to accommodate the early call.
After the phone interview, I was called in for an on-site interview. Scheduling this interview was also awful, as I'd confirmed I was available at a particular time, and the HR person instead just went ahead and scheduled it at a different time without asking/ consulting me. I'd managed to change my schedule around to fit the time given to me, but was very taken aback by the lack of professionalism in coordinating these meetings.
During the in person interviews, I met with three different people, all of whom were wonderful to speak with. The interviews took an hour each, so I was probably on-site for approximately four hours, since there was some down time between rounds.
After the interviews, I followed up via email thanking the team for their time, but did not get any response until two weeks later, which was just an automated /standardized rejection email. This felt very impersonal and rude after I had fully cleared my schedule and spent hours speaking with the team.
After receiving the rejection, I still attempted to reach out to HR again directly (following up on our previous chain, so I know it was sent correctly), just asking if there was any feedback they felt comfortable sharing from my interview process that I could use to learn/ grow from. I did not ever get any acknowledgment or an answer either way.
While it's possible they are short staffed/ over-worked etc. I still think common courtesy and respect should be expected (i.e. responding to emails).
If this interview process is a glimpse into how this company operates, I'd stay far away.InterviewQ: How would you describe your working style?
