I worked at Grubhub full-time (More than 3 years)
Grubhub's inside restaurant sales team is an excellent place to being a sales career in the tech or hospitality space. The product is easy to sell and their quota expectations are reasonable if you actually work.
The earning potential is uncapped. This means that if you truly work hard there is potential to see $100k+ and even close to $150-200k. With that said, only the best of the best will make this. You need to create a successful process and stick to it to find this success, which anyone can do.
Work/life balance is huge at Grubhub. You are only asked to work 40 hours a week and are discouraged to work outside of company hours.
Given that the organization is growing drastically and remains a leader in the space, the sales rep should expect changes to the status quo. This is not necessarily a con but can be treated as one if you are change resistant.
Advice to Management
I would recommend management to find more ways to incentive or keep top reps. Whether that is within Restaurant Sales or other sales teams in the company, company retention rates for reps that outperform their quota could be higher.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Grubhub (Chicago, IL) in April 2017.
The interview process moved quickly, which I liked.
It was thorough, but not belabored.
I felt like my expectations were set appropriately. I always knew where I was in the process and what to expect at each stage.
Video conference interviewing is a bit inconvenient. I had to WFH for an entire day just to do a 30 min. video interview. I guess it's different for everyone, but just going into the Grubhub office for a face-to-face would've been more convenient and effective than video.
