I applied online. I interviewed at Guarantee Trust Life Insurance in October 2017.
I was approached by GTL's corporate recruiter on LinkedIn to schedule a phone interview for the HR Generalist position. We had originally set an interview time for 1:00 PM. When 1:15 PM approached, and I still had not received a call, I reached out via LinkedIn and was asked if we could push the time back to 2:30 PM. Reluctant, I agreed. At 2:30 PM, I still received no phone call. I waited until 2:40 PM and asked if we would still be speaking. When I got no response, I wrote back stating I was no longer interested. In both cases, the recruiter made no attempt to contact me or even apologize for being unprofessional. I had looked up reviews on GTL before my interview and saw others saying the same thing. I finally received a message from the recruiter stating, "I do not spend all of my time on LinkedIn, and you do have my email. My day is hectic." This made it seem as though it was my fault that she could not prioritize. Apparently, filling a position is not on the top of her list.
