I have been working at Guy Brown full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have been in customer service for 30 years, including retail, banking, and the State of Virginia, and Guy Brown by far surpasses all of my previous employers. This company goes above and beyond for their employees and treats us like family. I have worked for Guy Brown for 11 years and can honestly say that they have been flexible to work with my schedule and appointments, they are understanding when emergency situations occur and offer support, encouragement, and empower us. I love being able to say that I work for a minority owned company, the fact that it is a woman owned company, makes me even prouder. Outside of the normal insurance and 401K benefits, some additional benefits include: $150 bonus and paid time off for your birthday, catered lunches, and volunteer time with the Guy Brown Cares program, which allows us to give back to the community. Guy Brown recognizes hard work with several recognition programs, with offer incentives to be your very best. While we come to work to do a job, we also try to have fun. We have annual Halloween costume, pumpkin decorating, and Ugly Sweater contests and we celebrate Customer Service Appreciation Week. Guy Brown may not be for everyone, but it is for me!

    Cons

Insurance premiums and deductibles are too high for our salary ratio

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Guy Brown (Bristol, TN) in August 2018.

    Interview

I applied sever times for this position and one day out of the blue they called me for an interview. I read up on the company and the job description and tried to be prepared. I arrived was taken to conference room with two leaders. One typing, one taking written notes. They questioned me for an hour, one after the other. I felt some of the questions were not relative to the job nor to anything I had placed in my resume. Seemed like they really want someone very comfortable with Excel, making reports and meeting deadlines. I was told when they would like to hire several people, that time frame has past and no call back or rejection letter. So I guess they still could call but hopefully at least they are professional enough to send rejection e mail. I have sent in one follow up e mail, no response. They seem like a great company. I have accepted another position with another company, so their loss.
